Will business restore your financial future because big businesses are not offering as many jobs as they used to?

Creating  your own business online is the best way to beat the downsizing spiral now that the banks are creating the Credit Crunch as a reaction to letting their greed sting them over the American Banks’ Sub-Prime Mortgage Fraud.

However most jobs are created by small businesses, yet over 90% of businesses fail within 5 years, even when they are good at what they do, because

• they develop a product first
• then try to market it without knowing what marketing is working for them and which is just spin from the salesman wanting to take your money.
• Forget about the taxation & red tape that Governments use to suppress initiative.
• Pay themselves last (so work longer hours for below minimum pay) instead taking the first 10-30% of revenue and then thinking how can I increase my revenue to pay my suppliers or Government.
• Gamble on high risk actions like opening a store in a mall – instead testing it online first
• Do not have a working plan for developing what is important for the business
• Focusing on the wrong things like the 80% of problems that your worst 20% of customers produce instead of enhancing the services to the 20% of customers who give you 80% of your profits
• Not understanding what to say, where to say it & how to say it to get your ideal customers to buy more often

You can not expect Governments to help because they believe – despite the evidence – that throwing money at a problem solves it (so just lets the problem grow bigger) and prefer to work on big ego projects. Their policy of quantitative easing (- printing more debt to increase the rate of devaluation of their currency) does nothing to solve the problem of the bailed-out banks’ policy of not lending -even to profitable businesses or investors which could kick start the flow of currency to restart the debt driven economy.

A successful business goes through these steps

1. Identifies a target market (group of buyers) The big boys are online to help you eg Ebay, Amazon & Google
   
2. sources a profitable product that the target market desires
3. knows how to reach customers profitably as do low risk tests first (easy online)
   
4. sells profitable solutions to the problems of their customers
5. pays themselves first
6. does not compete solely on price – as can only survive until the next business undercuts you
7. deliver the customer service that customers desire
8. follow up with customers (can be automated online)
9. has proper systems for accounts
10. has a system for building the business, so as to have a choice to sell it, without them, in the future
11. has a proper system for turning customers into repeat customers and into fans
12. has a proper system for adapting to the changing needs & desires of the customer
